Effective measures afoot to control pandemic: FM

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that besides enhancing the healthcare capacity, the government was taking effective measures to control coronavirus pandemic across the country. The foreign minister was talking to Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar who called on him here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
Coronavirus situation and the steps being taken to control its spread besides other issues of mutual interest came under discussion during the meeting. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the COVID-19 had affected the whole world and Pakistan, being a developing country, was facing critical challenges due to this pandemic.
The foreign minister stressed that the people in country should ensure complete implementation of all precautionary measures as the infection was touching the peak of curve.
At least 10 persons were tested positive for the coronavirus in Jamshoro during the last 24 hours rising the tally of COVID-19 patients to 64. According to the Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro, some 90 suspected patients were brought to Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical Sciences Jamshoro in last 24 hours.
