The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has postponed elections in one national and three provincial constituencies, citing unfortunate deaths of three election candidates. According to details, these include the national assembly constituency of NA-8 Bajaur, and three provincial constituencies of PK-22 Bajaur, PK-91 Kohat and PP-266 Rahim Yar Khan.

A spokesperson for the ECP stated that the proceedings of the general election in the mentioned constituencies had been abruptly concluded while exercising the powers granted to the relevant returning officers (ROs) under Section 73 of the Election Act, 2017. The ECP was forced to postpone elections in NA-8 Bajaur and PK-22 Bajaur after the assassination of independent candidate Rehan Zeb Khan, who was vying from both the constituencies.

Similarly, the ECP postponed elections for PK-91 Kohat following the demise of Asmat Ullah Khan. Additionally, election to the provincial constituency of PP-266 Rahim Yar Khan also faced postponement following the demise of Israr Hussain.
