Easy availability of medicines top priority: Governor

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that timely and easy availability of medicines plays an important role in ensuring human health and that is why the federal government is providing all possible help and support to the pharmaceutical industry. He expressed these views while addressing a function of Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association at a local hotel. The event was attended by representatives of domestic and international pharmaceutical companies. The Governor said that the size of Pakistan’s pharma industry is currently low and concerted efforts are needed to increase it. He said that due to the deteriorating situation of Corona in neighbouring countries, Pakistani pharmaceutical companies have opportunities to export Pakistani-made medicines in the international market. He said that there was no doubt that the medicines manufactured in Pakistan were not inferior to any other country in the world in terms of quality. He said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has been working tirelessly for the betterment of the economy of the country. Also issues instructions for necessary steps in this regard. Appreciating the role of Pakistan’s pharma industry during the Corona, the Sindh Governor said that the PPMA members not only did not allow hospitals to run out of medicines but also ensured the supply of equipment to doctors and medical staff. They deserve congratulations for that. He said that due to the steps taken by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the confidence of the business community in government institutions has been restored and now he is sure that the tax money paid by them is being used in a fair and transparent manner. That is why the latest FBR figures show that the tax collection rate is increasing compared to last year, he said. He said that the people of Pakistan are at the forefront of welfare work and we never hesitate to donate or help for any cause. He said that the initiatives and initiatives taken by the business community for social betterment were commendable. In his address on the occasion, renowned industrialist Zahid Saeed thanked the Governor of Sindh for providing all possible support to the industrialists during Corona and for liaising with the Federal Government and said that due to their personal efforts especially the pharma industry. She managed to escape the crisis of crying. He said that the PPMA members ensured the supply of medicines to the field hospitals in Karachi and Lahore as per their requirements while also providing safety equipment to the doctors and medical staff.
