Dubai rains affected these flights between Pakistan and UAE

DUBAI – The Dubai International Airport witnessed an extraordinary situation after runways were flooded with record-breaking rain water, disrupting the flight operation.

The UAE’s Met Office has issued red alert amid forecast of heavy rains and strong winds on Wednesday. Amid the prevailing weather conditions, several flights between Pakistan and (UAE) United Arab Emirates were cancelled.

Reports said 43 Pakistan-bound flights from Dubai and Sharjah were cancelled by the authorities due to operational difficulties, stranding hundreds of passengers.

PIA’s Dubai-bound PK-203 and return flight PK-204 and PIA’s Sharjah-bound flight PK-185 are among the 43 flights cancelled due to weather conditions.

Furthermore, Serene Air’s Dubai-bound flight ER 1723 suffered a delay of more than 10 hours while Pakistan-bound flight from Dubai faced a delay of nine hours.

Air Blue’s flight from Dubai PA-411 suffered a delay of three hours.
