Drive to vaccinate stray dogs begins

On the instructions of Chief Minister Sindh and Local Government Minister Syed NasirHussain Shah, the Local Government Department of the province has started vaccination of stray dogs.
The vaccination campaign initially has been started in the districts South & East of Karachi, which will be extended to all the districts of province. Secretary Local Government Sindh Roshan Ali Shaikhinformedthe media that 65 dogs have been vaccinated in the two districts of Karachi, in collaboration with ACF, RFP and Indus Hospital and the vaccinated dogs were released their areas as they are now harmless for humans”.
Shaikh also informed that Sindh province is pioneer in initiating this project which is the most scientific and human method of checking the population of stray dogs in our environment. He thanked all the project partners for extending their cooperation for the noble cause. Secretary Local Government hoped that the project would prove to be a milestone in controlling the sensitive issue.
