WASHINGTON  – Donald Trump has won the presidential race in the United States, securing victory and once again becoming the US President.

Vote counting is still underway after the presidential election voting concluded, but Trump has successfully garnered the minimum required electoral votes.

Polling has concluded in several states, including Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia, Ohio, Virginia, and Carolina, with vote counting and result announcements ongoing.

According to current results, Republican candidate Donald Trump has received 277 votes, securing the presidency, while his opponent Kamala Harris trails with 226 votes.

In light of recent results, Trump is expected to address his supporters soon, whereas Kamala Harris has opted not to speak at this time. She plans to issue a statement regarding the election results later this evening.

The reports said Trump has won in the key states of North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, a significant development in his favor. These states are considered swing states, meaning their results greatly impact the overall outcome.

On the other hand, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has secured a victory in Virginia. Notably, Democratic candidate Joe Biden also won this state in 2020.

According to Reuters, Trump is leading in Indiana and Kentucky, although vote counting continues. The report notes that in Kentucky, 21% of votes have been counted, with Kamala Harris having received 209,745 votes (54.1%) compared to Trump’s 172,720 votes (44.4%).

As per BBC’s report, 60% of the votes have been counted in Indiana, where Kamala Harris is currently leading with 49.7%, while Trump follows with 48.6%. In the 2020 election, Trump defeated Joe Biden by a 7% margin in Indiana, and in 2016, he defeated Hillary Clinton by 19%.

According to Reuters, with 3% of votes counted in Georgia, Trump is currently leading with 91,381 votes (51%), while Kamala Harris has 87,032 votes (48.5%).

Based on the current results from the Associated Press, former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump has secured 277 electoral votes, while Democrat candidate Kamala Harris trails with 226 electoral votes.

In Senate elections, Republicans have gained an advantage, leading with 51 seats, while Democrats hold 43.

In the House of Representatives election, Republicans are ahead with 183 seats compared to the Democrats’ 153. According to the American news agency, Republicans also lead in the gubernatorial races with 25 states, while Democrats have a lead in 22.

In the U.S. presidential election, one small town has continued its tradition of starting the voting process late at night since the 1960s, with its results being the first to be announced.

In the small town of Dixville Notch in New Hampshire, there are only 6 registered voters; 3 votes went to Kamala Harris and 3 to Donald Trump. In the 2020 election, all 5 votes in this town went to Joe Biden, but this year, with an additional voter, Trump has tied with Harris at three votes each.

Voting across all regions in the U.S. began at their respective local times, although over 70 million voters had already cast their ballots through early and mail-in voting.

The results from Dixville Notch provide a snapshot of the national landscape, with a close race expected between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris across the country.

To win the U.S. presidency, a candidate must secure at least 270 of the 538 electoral votes.
