Pakistan rupee weakened by 25 paisa (-0.15 per-cent) against the US dollar in the interbank on Mon-day despite the reports that the country is set to get $2.77 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the US dollar opened atRs164.18 and closed at Rs164.43. This is the lowest level of Pakistani rupee against the US dollar since October 02, 2020. Within the open market, the rupee was traded at Rs164.40/164.90 per dollar.
Overall, Pakistani rupee shed Rs0.18 against the US dollar during the last week, while depreciation dur-ing the fiscal year 2021-22 has been Rs7.07. —TLTP
