ISLAMABAD – The adverse weather conditions have led to the cancellation of 19 flights at various airports in the country due to dense fog, with an additional 6 flights being diverted to alternative destinations.
The severe weather resulted in the cancellation of 45 flights and their redirection to 15 alternative airports.
In the initial 20 days of the year, a total of 535 flights faced cancellations, and over 125 flights had to land at alternative airports due to unfavorable weather.
The latest reports suggest that four international flights bound for Islamabad from Karachi and Lahore successfully landed. Flight PK 134 from Dubai and Dammam, originally scheduled for Islamabad, was rerouted and safely landed in Karachi.
Pakistani Airlines (PIA) operated flight PK 182 from Sharjah and PK 162 from Abu Dhabi, both successfully landing at Islamabad.
PIA’s flight PK 840 from Jeddah to Multan faced diversion to Lahore, while the Dubai-Lahore flight PK 204 landed in Islamabad.
The flight schedule also reported the cancellation of four flights from Islamabad to Gilgit and Skardu. Furthermore, international flights from Sialkot to Bahrain and four international flights from Lahore to Jeddah by Saudi Airlines were among those canceled. Flights departing from Lahore to Jeddah, Dubai, Najaf, Karachi, and Riyadh experienced delays.
Besides it, the flights from Islamabad to Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Bahrain, and Oman operated by various airlines faced delays, impacting their timely departure.
