Ambassador of Denmark, Lis Rosenholm, has said that her country is highly grateful to the Government of Pakistan for evacuating the Danish citizens from Afghanistan.
On behalf of the people and the Government of Denmark he extends gratitude to Pakistan for assisting the Danish citizens in their evacuation during difficult time.
She expressed these views at a meeting with President Dr Arif Alvi regarding the promotion of medical ethics in healthcare system of Pakistan, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Talking to the Danish Ambassador, the president said that Pakistan evacuated foreign nationals and members of the international organizations through air and land routes.
The president said that the medical professionals needed to discourage the practice of unnecessarily prescribing the anti-biotics
. He said that it was the responsibility of health care workers, pharmaceuticals and other relevant organizations to promote medical ethics and discourage the excessive prescription of anti-biotics to patients.
The president reciprocated the Danish envoy’s gratitude by expressing the desire for goodwill and cordial relations between Pakistan and Denmark.
He said Pakistan wanted relations with countries based on mutual respect, trust and goodwill. We will continue to facilitate our friendly countries in their hour of need, said the president.
The ambassador briefed the meeting about the medical ethical practices and high quality healthcare system of Denmark.
The meeting emphasized the need to inculcate ethical and best practices of health services delivery among health professionals.
The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Dr Nosheen Hamid, Acting Vice Chancellor of Health Services Academy (HSA), Islamabad, Dr Shahzad Ali Khan, Director Pharmacy, Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), Mr Abdul Rasheed, and Registrar HSA, Mr Nadeem Sajjad.
