Delay in FIRs’ registration not to be tolerated: DIG

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Lahore Rai Babar Saeed has warned the police officers that strict departmental action would be taken against the responsible for any unnecessary delay or hurdle in registration of FIRs.
He said this while inspecting Nishter Colony Police Station on Wednesday. Nishter Colony SHO Inspector Anjum Touqeer and other police officers were present on this occasion. Rai Babar Saeed inspected the lockup, front desk, record room and other related sections of the police station including its cleanliness.
DIG Operations Rai Babar Saeed met with the citizens who visited front desk and asked about the quality of facilities provided their and behaviour of the police station staff. He also talked with the under-trial accused prisoners in lockup and got necessary information regarding their convicted nature of crime. The DIG directed the police officers to make it their top priority to resolve the genuine issues of the citizens at police station level.
Rai Babar Saeed directed the staff of police station to conduct joint patrolling and holdups in coordination with Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit teams particularly on hot spots and crime pockets to get better results for maintaining peace in the city.
Rai Babar Saeed also directed them to take strict action against law breakers including accused involved in kite flying, aerial firing and one wheeling.
‘Police stations are the face of the department and it should be our top priority to provide justice to the citizens’. He said, ‘Every complainant visiting police station is VVIP and it is mandatory for us to give him due respect and honour’. He checked the attendance of the staff and along with cleanliness condition of the police station. He directed the officers and officials to behave politely with the citizens and complainants, dealing with them in professional manner.
