Amid growing complaints of moral and financial corruption among Indian armed forces, one more commandant of the Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), this time, was arrested on the charge of sexually harassing a woman officer in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.
A complaint was registered on Sunday in which an assistant commandant of a CRPF unit at Battal Ballian said that commandant Surinder Singh Rana was sexually and mentally harassing her.
Based on the complaint, an FIR number was lodged against the commandant under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 354-A, 354-D, 509 at the Udhampur police station. A few days ago, the Central Bureau of Investigation had arrested a Border Security Force commandant on the charge of corruption during recruitment in police in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.—INP
