Money laundering case

Amraiz Khan

An Accountability court (AC) in Lahore on Tuesday granted a one-day exemption to Hamza Shahbaz the former Chief Minister of Punjab and son of the Prime Minister from appearance in a money laundering case.

The court also summoned the witnesses of the NAB in the money laundering and assets beyond sources of income case against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, his son Hamza Shehbaz and 14 other suspects to record their statements on the next hearing of the case.

It is worth mentioning here that the court had already exempted Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif from appearance in person before the court.

Anwaar Hussain, who represented PM Shehbaz and his son, told the court that while the premier had already been granted permanent exemption from appearance in the court, his son Hamza was not feeling well today since he had a backache, and doctors had advised him complete bed rest. The court granted a one-day exemption to Hamza, and adjourned the hearing until November 15, 2022.
