SEEMA KRIN GILGIT Gilgit-Baltistan governments decided to postpone Chandiur, Khunjerab, Baboser and other festivals due to threats of Corona Virus. The decision has been taken an important meeting of secretariat steering committee which chaired by Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa Secretary of Interior Gilgit Baltistan. According to the press note issued after meeting, Raja Rasheed Ali brief that Health department set up 130 isolation rooms in all major hospitals in GilgitBaltistan in context of rapid spread of the Corona virus across the country. Special Isolation Hospitals have been established in all three Regions. Establishment of specialized screening desk at Thor Check Post, Astak Skardu, Gilgit and Skardu Airports to monitor Corona virus outbreak. He said that GB government demanded two trained pathologist from National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad with screening material equipment. All private and public educational institutions in Gilgit-Baltistan, including madrassas, have decided to close until March 14. In addition, it was decided to restrict and close the police training centers, sports activities, festivals, Khunjerab top, shandor top, orphanages, vocational centers, meetings with prisoners in prisons and all other gatherings. All three Regions have specialized isolation hospitals (Mohammed Abad Danyor, Basin Hospital, Isolation Wing based in DHQ Hospital Chilas, Gumba Skardu Hospital, the newly constructed government building at Hadiabad Chowk Skardu) as well as DHQ Hospital Gilgit, City Hospital Gilgit, Isolation rooms have been set up immediately at Civil Hospital Karim Abad Hunza, DHQ Hospital Gahkoch, Astor, Khaplu, Nagar, City Hospital Kharmang and all other major hospitals.
