Secretary Local Government (LG) of South Punjab Muhammad Altaf Baloch said that corona vaccination drive was carried out at doorstep to protect people across the district.
While presiding over a meeting here Tuesday to review second phase of ‘doorstep corona vaccination campaign’ he termed timely measures being taken by the government had controlled its spread effectively.
He directed health department officials to vaccinate as many people as possible during the campaign so that every person in the district would be secured and survive healthy.
He hailed that satisfactory results were achieved in first phase of the campaign where teams from health department went door-to-door to inject households to save them from fatal impacts of the virus.
Deputy Commissioner Muzaffargarh Musa Raza said on the occasion that Muzaffargarh district was the third district in the province after Lahore and Faisalabad where most people were vaccinated against corona in the first phase. He said that in the second phase, it had been given target of vaccinating 1,049,941 people.
In the meeting, CEO Health Dr. Muhammad Fayyaz said that 817 teams were working to make the campaign successful. In the second phase of the campaign, 336,965 people would be given first dose of corona vaccine, while 712,976 people the second dose. He said that the campaign would continue for four weeks next.—APP
