Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday said that the recent visits of the Chief of Army Staff and Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP)have raised hope amongst the distressed Karachiites about resolution of thier socio-economic and administrative issues, and this should not turn into despair at any cost due to emergence of new events. Addressing apress conference on Wednesday, he said Karachiites pin no hope on the federal and provincial governments, however, the COAS and CJP are seriously concerned about finding a way out for the lingering woes of the economic lifeline of the country. Kamal said as soon as some political developments came to limelight, the rulers forget about Karachi. “The script of Rs 1150 billion Karachi package, announced by the Prime Minister has perhaps lost somewhere.” Instead of resolving Karachi’s problems, the conscienceless rules are awaiting for a new disaster to surface. We are afraid that if the problems of Karachi are not resolved this time on a priority basis, people will start blaming the institutions. The ironic fact of our country is that local bodies were devolved and given authority and resources not by any civilian governments rather by dictators while the so-called claimants of democracy always violated the rights of the people. Kamal said “Sindhis are our brothers and we Muhajir regard them as Ansar, but PPP is pursuing bloody politics in the province to prolong its prejudiced and corrupt rule, which is fueling hatred. Those who talk of saving Motherland from division have fragmented the Motherland’s heart – Karachi into 7 parts and that too on ethnic basis. The Britishers left subcontinent, but their system of slavery still continues in independent Pakistan. PPP is persuing the same system through the commissioners while the so-called representatives of the Muhajir are taking advantage of the biased politics of the PPP and using the slogan of the new province to hide their corruption.
