Oman Envoy also discusses regional security, mutual ties with Army Chief
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was called on by French Ambassador Nicolas Galey in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that during meeting of foreign envoy with Army Chief, important issues of bilateral interest including cooperation in defence and security besides overall security of the region came under discussion.
Talking to French Envoy, COAS General Bajwa was of the view that Pakistan highly values its ties with France and was desirous to boost the existing multilateral relations based on mutual interests.
Envoy Nicolas Galey lauded the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan for regional security and vowed for further strengthening diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
Meanwhile, Ambassador of Oman to Pakistan, Dr Al Sheikh Mohammed Omar Ahmed Al Marhoon also held meeting with General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi.Matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and partnership in various fields came under discussion during the meeting.
Talking to Envoy of Oman, the Army Chief said Pakistan have deep cordial bilateral relations with Oman and it highly values its multi-dimensional ties with Gulf countries.
COAS Bajwa also stressed the need of exploring the potential in defence and maritime security which could strengthen the strategic partnership. Expressing his grief over the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan, the Ambassador of Oman offered sincere condolence to the families of the victims. The visiting dignitary also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional stability and pledged to play his role for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
