IMCG F-7/4 hosts reception for Christian students, teaching & non-teaching staff
In order to share joys with the Christian students, their parents, the Christian teachers and the non-teaching staff the Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG F-7/4) organized a festive occasion here on Tuesday.
The event turned out to be a show of interfaith harmony and was attended by a large number of the schoolchildren in bright outfits, their parents, teachers and members of Christian community.
Federal Secretary for Education Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani attended the event as Chief Guest, however, he said the real guests on the day were the children who had turned up with their parents to participate in the Christmas joys.
The role of the Christian community in various fields, particularly education and health is acknowledged by all, he said.
“We are thrilled to host this joyous event, which promotes the universal values of love, kindness, and compassion,” said MrWani.
“We believe that education goes beyond academics, and such events help foster a sense of community and social responsibility,” he further said.
MrWani also praised the principal of the college Dr Saadia Aziz and her team for arranging a lively and festive occasion that has warmed the hearts on a cold morning. The auditorium where the cake-cutting ceremony took place was beautifully decorated with colourful lights, flowers and balloons. The chief guest along with the children who were in Santa Claus attire and the teachers cut the cake and wished them a happy Christmas.

The event aimed at promoting unity, harmony, and festive cheer among students, teachers, and staff members of Christian minority. The celebrations included activities, such as Christmas tree decoration, carol singing, cake cutting and gift exchange etc.
The education ministry invited all students, teachers, and staff members of Christian minority to join in the festivities and to make the Christmas celebration a memorable one, said a senior official of the ministry while talking to Pakistan Observer.
