Beijing: China has reiterated its commitment to work with Pakistan in 2023 on all fronts, as agreed on in the meeting between Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong.
Addressing a regular press conference in Beijing, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, said that China and Pakistan are “all-weather strategic cooperative partners and iron-clad friends”.
During the last year, the spokesperson said, the two countries rendered each other mutual understanding and support, addressed challenges together, and marched forward shoulder-to-shoulder.
“We have strengthened high-level guidance, consolidated strategic consensus, jointly promoted the sound development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and expanded friendly exchanges and cooperation in various areas, sustaining high-quality development of bilateral relations,” Mao Ning said.
Her statement came after the meeting between FM Bilawal and Amb. Nong Rong. The two leaders agreed on Monday to maintain “momentum” on the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and “stronger people-to-people” contact between the two brotherly countries.
Spokesperson Mao Ning said that in 2023 China is ready to work with Pakistan, follow through on the important common understandings reached between the two leaders, make solid progress in comprehensive and high-level strategic cooperation, stay committed to building an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, and make an even greater contribution to the two peoples’ wellbeing and peace and development of the region and the wider world.
