BEIJING – China voiced strong opposition to the use of military force amid growing international concern over the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. Beijing’s latest remarks highlight a push for diplomacy over conflict as world powers watch the Middle East with increasing concern.

The statement came in response to US President Donald Trump’s warning that he is weighing possible military action against Tehran. At a press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun emphasized Beijing’s stance on non-intervention and respect for national sovereignty.

“China opposes any actions that infringe upon the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of other nations,” Guo said. “We reject the use or threat of force in international relations.”

Amid ongoing missile exchanges between Israel and Iran, China has urged all parties—particularly Israel—to immediately cease hostilities and prioritize regional stability.

“China calls on all sides, especially Israel, to halt the fighting and put the interests of the region’s people first,” Guo added.

The conflict, now entering its seventh day, saw a fresh round of missile attacks on Thursday. Iranian media reported that missiles were fired toward Tel Aviv, with Fars news agency describing the projectiles “roaring over the city.” State television aired live footage from the commercial hub as tensions surged.

In Washington, President Trump reportedly discussed possible strikes on Iran with senior advisers earlier this week. According to sources familiar with the deliberations, Trump is closely monitoring Tehran’s nuclear posture before making any final decisions. A potential target includes Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, a heavily fortified site located deep underground, believed to be immune to most conventional weaponry.

Meanwhile, US media cited a senior Iranian official who said Tehran may be open to negotiations with President Trump, raising speculation of a possible diplomatic opening.
