LAHORE – Chicken meat prices in Pakistan witnessed an increase in Lahore and other markets of Punjab after it registered downward trend for several days.
In recent past, the prices of the check surged to historic high, keeping the food product out of range of the inflation-hit masses.
In Lahore, Rawalpindi and other cities, the chicken meat prices increased by Rs46 to settle at Rs423 per kilogramm on May 27.
A day earlier on May 26, the chicken price was fixed at Rs377 per kg in Lahore and other cities of the Punjab province.
As per the official rates, the price of 1kg of chicken meat has been fixed at Rs423.
Citizens, who are bearing hike in utility bills and other basic commodities, lamented over rising chicken prices in Punjab, asking the government to take an action against the mafia.
