In a pivotal meeting between the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) and industrial stakeholders, it was underscored that providing water to all industries, including the Site Industrial Area, aligning with their needs, stands as a top priority. The CEO KW&SC Engineer, Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, emphasized during the meeting that the corporation is committed to supplying uninterrupted water to industries, recognizing their crucial role in the city’s development and economy. The Water Corporation, under its act, has implemented a new law ensuring fair water distribution to industries, aiming to enhance its revenue while serving the community. They vehemently opposed any water theft, affirming that individuals involved in such practices won’t be granted licenses.
The corporation assured operators that all legitimate concerns will be addressed promptly. Acknowledging the corporation’s efforts, industrial operators expressed gratitude for the opportunity to discuss their issues. They affirmed their readiness to collaborate with the KW&SC for the betterment of the city.
They further commended the recent improvements in water supply systems, expressing optimism for further enhancements under the corporation’s new management. The stakeholders, notably, agreed to end their protest regarding water supply interruptions after the KW&SC swiftly acted to ensure adequate water provision, particularly to the Site Industrial Area, by activating emergency measures at key plants.
