Centre attaches special importance to uplift of Sindh: Asad Umar

Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar has said that while Karachi starves for the water, the Sindh government holds the report of K-IV water project and hoped it would soon be forwarded to the federal government. Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar was talking to mediamen after meeting with PirSibghatullahRashdi along with Governor Sindh Imran Ismail,Federal Minister for Privatization MuhammadmianSoomro, PTIMPAHaleemAdil Sheikh and others here on Saturday. Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that federal government attaches special importance to development of Sindh and funds have been earmarked for development projects in the province in the federal budget for financial year 2020-21. The minister said funds have also been earmarked in budget for K-IV project as it is an important project of providing water to the people of Karachi. To a question Asad Umar said Prime Minister constituted an inquiry commission into sugar scandal and made its report public. He said over all political situation and matters of bilateral interest were discussed with Pir Sahib Pagara in the meeting. He said that the Prime Minister represents every part of the country and every language. Those who work for the national interest have stood up despite the pressure. When questioned about FawadChaudhry s interview, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said, “I don t know what the Federal Minister for Science and Technology was saying. The current cabinet is very different from the previous ones in which everyone are consulted.” Moreover, the Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail also inquired from Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi about the well-being of his mother. He said,“Here I get immense love, affection and compassion. Pir Sahib is my elder. He always loved me and even if Pir Sahib scolds me, I do not have any grievances with him. Pir Sahib has always loved me.” Governor of Sindh Imran Ismaill said further said that he tries to get guidance from Pir Sahib on the issues of Sindh adding that his experience was very useful and his consultation helps in solving many problems of the province. Replying to a question, the Governor said that there was no talk of political change in Sindh but there was talk of welfare change. Just as there is welfare change in the whole of Pakistan, there should also be welfare change in Sindh.
