A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Thursday to review the launch and progress of two major upcoming infrastructure projects: the Serena Chowk Interchange and the F-8 Interchange at PTCL.

The meeting was attended by the relevant CDA members, relevant officers, and contractors involved in the execution of the projects.

During the meeting, it was briefed that the surveys for both interchanges have been completed, and the relocation of utilities for the Serena Chowk Interchange is currently underway. Chairman CDA stressed the importance of adhering to the timelines set forth by the Minister Interior, emphasizing that both projects must be executed efficiently and without delays.

He stressed that we must ensure all tasks, including soil and piles testing, are carried out according to schedule and with the highest standards of quality. The timely completion of these interchanges is crucial for improving traffic flow in the capital.

The meeting also focused on coordination among all relevant departments such as IESCO, SNGPL, and the Islamabad Traffic Police regarding the Safe City project lines installed at these locations. These utilities will be relocated to ensure smooth project execution. Groundbreaking for both interchanges is expected to take place soon, following the completion of preliminary work.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa reiterated the importance of removing all potential impediments to the projects and ensuring that all stakeholders are actively engaged in meeting the deadlines. He added that he would personally be visiting the project sites regularly to review progress and ensure there are no delays.

The CDA is committed to completing these key infrastructure projects within the stipulated timelines to enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the capital, an official source later said.
