Police on Friday registered a case against Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister, his Chief security officer and around 4 thousand other participants of PTI long march for rioting and disturbing public order besides violation of section 144.
The case registered by station house officer Hassanabdal Saddar Police station Sub Inspector Rizwan Ullah against Khalid Khursheed Khan Chief Minister GB, his Chief security officer SP Niaz Alam, over 40 cops of GB Police of protocol duty and his over three thousand protesters who were participants of the PTI long march.
The case has been filed under Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), Section 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), Section 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), Section 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), Section 324 (attempt to commit qatl-i-amd) and Section 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
As per the FIR, CM Khurshid and his security team shouted slogans against the government and administration and kept firing on police personnel.
The station house officer Sub Inspector Rizwan Ullah in his FIR lodged that “he was deployed on Islamabad-Peshawar motorway (M-1) near Pathargarh avert the long march when the PTI rally led by Khalid Khursheed Khan Chief Minister GB along with his protocol staff was appeared and they were asked through mega phone to refrain the removing the blockade but instead they restored firing to the police party with sophisticated weapons besides also fired tear gas shells from their official weapons.
The participants also attacked a police party with stones from a nearby hill which caused damages to the official vehicles”. The FIR said that Police officials deployed there take safety measures to avert causality and loss of life. However, no arrest was made till filing this news report.
