The Punjab police on Thursday launched a two-week special campaign to check vehicles documents, route permits etc, of dumper trucks to control road accidents and save precious lives.
On the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Arif Nawaz, Additional IG Traffic Police Punjab Muhammad Farooq Mazhar directed the traffic in-charges of all the districts to maintain the record of dumper trucks and drivers and create awareness among them about traffic laws and rules.
He ordered for scrutinising documents, licences and route permits, especially fitness and physical certificates of all dumper trucks and oil-tankers, which are registered in Punjab or any other province.
During the special campaign, monitoring teams have been directed that cases should be registered against those involved in rash driving and their licences and routes permits should be cancelled.
