Calling attention to climate crisis
IT is really disturbing to note that climate change and its impact has been playing havoc with agriculture and global economic growth one way or another.
First off, Mother Earth has been host to plenty of natural resources from rivers to seas to mountains to trees to food crops – to mention a few.
In other words, almost all the countries and continents in the world have been home to such natural resources.
Well, this is true of even continents like Africa where deep forest areas have been quite common.
On the other hand, the same African Continent has long been reeling under severe economic crisis and food shortage problems caused by bad elements like corrupt governments, not to mention climate change crisis.
The East or the West, the fact of the matter is that there have still been severe climate consequences up ahead.
In this context, extensive climate change awareness is the need of the hour. First up, younger generations like students must be made aware of climate change crisis and related ramifications in this connection.
For instance, what Greta Thunberg has been doing worldwide right up till date as a young climate change activist is just a matter of great pride and has been inspiring to the core.
In my native area Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, students have usually been engaged in various activities like planting saplings/trees as part of their social awareness programmes.
After all, they have all the verve and vigour to spread the right messages across the board. Way to go indeed!
On the whole, it is all about more climate actions on the ground through rigorous green activities globally.
Well, it is 2023 now and the global population has been growing by the day. So it is very important to encourage robust agricultural activities in order to feed all the humans out there at the same time.
To give an example, my native places have been the major hubs of farming activities like cultivating paddy, bananas, betels and other food crops.
To top it all, countries, governments and other international forums must swing into action in this connection.
Above all else, serious and stringent measures must be taken to nurture green belt and forest areas, thereby protecting the global green ecosystems in toto.
In addition, the international community must always come forward to utilize money and technological advances to fight off the impact of climate change apart from strengthening agricultural activities all year round.
