The abduction of prominent businessman Zulfiqar Ahmed, owner of Cola Next, has left Karachi police baffled as they struggle to make significant headway in the case. Ahmed was kidnapped three days ago while traveling with his friend Qaiser on Mauripur Road. Despite the time elapsed, police have yet to achieve a breakthrough. On Friday night, the Kalri police registered an FIR against eight men allegedly involved in the kidnapping. According to reports, the armed men forcibly took Ahmed away.

Initially, police reluctance to register the case prompted the Sindh High Court to summon the SHO for an explanation. Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho stated that two high-powered investigation teams have been formed to tackle the case. Odho assured the public that the case would be solved soon, but no progress has been reported thus far. Ahmed, also the owner of Paracha Textiles and Meezan Oil, went missing on July 26. Family sources claimed he was last seen being taken by masked armed men on Mauripur Road in Keamari. The kidnappers forced Ahmed and his partner, Qaiser, into a double cabin vehicle at gunpoint. Qaiser was released shortly after the abduction.
