The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, has said that popular martyred youth leader, Burhan Wani, is a symbol of resistance against the Indian repression in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar said this in a special message in connection with the upcoming 7th mar-tyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani, who along with his two associates was martyred by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on July 08 in 2016.
The APHC leader said that Burhan Wani was the symbol of fear for imperialist India and a hero of the Kashmiri people. He said, the life, struggle, courage and steadfastness of this young shining star are a role model for the Kashmiri youth who are fighting for the liberation of their land from Indian occupation. He paid glowing tributes to this young hero and other martyrs of the freedom movement and said the Kashmiris are indebted to those sacred souls who sacrificed their day for our future. He maintained that the supreme sacrifices of these martyrs will not be allowed to go waste.
Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar said Kashmiri youngsters are the torch bearer of the freedom movement and that’s why they are the prime target of Indian occupation forces. He deplored that killing of Kashmiri youth, cripple them physically and mentally through brutal torture, arrest and rot them in jails for years in concocted and fabricated cases have become a policy matter of the Indian authorities. He said that India under a well-thought-out plan is eliminating the Kashmiri youth on one pretext or the other.
The APHC leader said that Burhan Wani’s brother Khalid Wani was also martyred by Indian troops by brutal torture in custody. He reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to cary forward the mission of their martyrs. He urged the Kashmiri people to forge greater unity among their ranks to take forward in a more effective manner the ongoing struggle to get rid of Indian slavery.
Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar asked the people of IIOJK to observe complete shutdown on the martyr-dom anniversary of Burhan Wani on Saturday (July 08). He also appealed to the Kashmiris and Pakistanis living abroad to hold protest rallies, seminars and arrange other programmes to pay homage to Burhan Wani and other martyrs of Kashmir freedom movement and draw the attention of the world community towards the systematic killing of the Kashmiris by Indian troops in IIOJK.No photo de-scription available.
APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja, in her statement in Srinagar said the way Burhan Wani exposed the Indian imperialism and terrorism in IIOJK to the world is a golden chapter of the Kashmir movement. She paid rich tribute to Burhan Wani and the martyrs of the mass uprising triggered by his extrajudicial killing. She said this mass movement gave a new impetus to the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle. Yasmeen Raja said the sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs will be safeguarded and the ongoing freedom movement will be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs.
APHC leader, Muhammad Yousaf Naqash, in his statement said Burhan Wani and other martyrs are the real asset of the Kashmir freedom movement and our primary objective is to safeguard these assets and fulfill the mission of the martyrs. The martyrdom of millions of people serves as clear evidence that the Kashmiris want to liberate themselves from Indian subjugation under any circumstances. Despite the grave violations of human rights committed by Indian troops, the Kashmiris will unwaveringly pursue their ultimate goal and will not be deterred by the Indian oppression, he added.—KMS
