Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over observed 27 October as Black Day, today, to express their total rejection of 73 years of illegal occupation of their motherland by India.
The day was marked by complete shutdown across the occupied territory. All government and private offices, shops and business establishments were closed while traffic was thin.
Posters with Pakistani map showing Jammu and Kashmir as its part, Pakistani flag and pro-freedom slogans were hoisted in Nowatta and other areas of Srinagar. Indian forces’ personnel were deployed in strength to prevent protest marches, rallies and seminars against the 27th October 1947 invasion as well as revocation of the special status of Kashmir by Modi-led fascist regime on August 5, last year.
