Pakistan People’s Party leader Bilawal Bhutto said on Monday that he ‘curses’ the idea of any deal, reiterating that any concessional deal is out of question in relation to former president Asif Ali Zardari’s imprisonment at Adiala jail.
Talking to the media outside Adiala jail where he went to visit his father former President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday, Bilawal Bhutto said that it is unfortunate that in the same city of Rawalpindi Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was judicially murdered and a petition is pending in Supreme Court regarding this murder. If no one is ready to apologize for this judicial murder then what will be the situation with the common citizens of this country.
Bilawal Bhutto reiterated his stance that the PPP knows how to fight back and will continue to do so. On the matter of protest call given by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F’s central leadership, the PPP chairman said that his party has a different stance related to the protest and they are willing to find middle ground.
He further said that if there is any middle ground found in the meeting with the JUI-F, then the PPP will extend support more than mere cooperation. The PPP chairman referred to the ongoing National Accountability Bureau inquiry against Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah, saying that if he is arrested without proven allegations, then the party knows how to respond.
Bilwal said that it was the time to get rid of this ‘puppet government’ as Prime Minister Imran Khan’s every promise and slogan proved a lie.
He said that jail is not new for former president and party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, he had spent 11 years in jail.
Bilawal said that the country’s judicial system is the way that an accused is arrested, and asked what will happen to a common man if such treatment is with the former president. “Asif Zardari is ill but he will not compromise on principles,” Bilawal said.
PPP Chairman said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf selected government has imprisoned political opponents without any evidence against them and it is not accountability but victimization. The Chairman alleged that Zardari is not being provided required medical facilities to pressurize him but he refuses to bow down before such tactics. .
