Bijbehara carnage will remain one of the heinous crimes by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK)
A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said over 50 innocent Kashmiris were martyred in the Bijbehara area of Islamabad district on October 22, 1993, when the personnel of Indian Border Security Force opened fire on the peaceful demonstrators, who were protesting against the Indian military siege of Srinagar’s Hazratbal shrine.
It said 30 years on but the Bijbehara martyrs’ families are still awaiting justice The report said memories of Bijbehara bloodbath are still fresh in Kashmiris’ minds. History of IIOJK is littered with several Bijbehara-like massacres, it added. Indian troops have carried out over 25 massacres in the occupied territory and have martyred over 96,246 innocent Kashmiris since Jan 1989 till date, as they are enjoying unbridled powers under draconian laws.
The report said the Modi regime plans Bijbehara-like massacres to change Muslim-majority of IIOJK into a minority and wants to terrorize the Kashmiris by carrying out gruesome massacres in the occupied territory. It said the world must show urgency to probe all massacres by Indian troops in Kashmir.
The leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Bijbehara massacre on their 30th martyrdom anni-versary.

The APHC leaders, including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous, Abdul Ahad Parra, Saleem Zargar, Yasmeen Raja, Zamrooda Habib, Farida Behanji, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Javaid Ahmed Mir, Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi and Majid Kashmiri in their separate statements in Srinagar said the sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs will bring positive results and the day is not far away when the Kashmiris will get freedom and political justice which has been snatched by the Indian government since 1947.
The leaders also sought the role of the United Nations and other international human rights or-ganizations to stop India from altering the demography of Jammu and Kashmir. Under a well-hatched conspiracy, Indian troops were killing innocent Kashmiris to turn the Muslim majority into a minority in the territory, the deplored.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter Convener, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Sheikh Abdul Mateen and Imtiaz Wani in a joint statement in Islamabad said the Kashmiris martyrs’ sacrifices, which have centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level, will not be allowed to go waste and their mission will be accomplished at all costs.—KMS
