Aslam asks companies to ensure availability of surgical instruments

Provincial Industries & Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat on Thursday in which provision of safety masks, gloves, gowns, sanitizers, surgical instruments, recommendations for their preparation at local level and their prices came under review.
Secretary Industries & Trade Zafar Iqbal, Additional Secretary Ashar Zaidi, Director Pharmacy, officers of Industries & Trade, President LCCI Irfan Sheikh, manufacturers and representatives of surgical instruments and pharmaceutical companies also attended the meeting. Those attending the meeting include Ali Zafar from Three Stars Medical Suppliers, Daanish from Avex Associates, Mohsin Ayaz from APSTA and others were also present.
Mian Aslam Iqbal while addressing the participants said that pharmaceutical companies and suppliers of surgical instruments should ensure availability of preventive masks, gloves and surgical instruments in the market.
He further lamented over the shortage of surgical instruments in the market and hike in their prices. Government will not remain mute in these conditions as law has sternly come into action against price-hike mafias and hoarders. Hoarders and illegal profiteers will be dealt with an iron hand in this hour of need, he vowed. Traders will have to stand with the government and the masses to effectively cope up with the situation being arisen out of coronavirus.
He further maintained that this global crisis will have to be defeated by making collective efforts.
If anyone tried to benefit out of this difficult situation then he will be strictly dealt with, he resolved. Every person in the society has to play his proactive role in the war against coronavirus as every single life is very precious. PTI government will go to every extent in order to ensure protection to the people against coronavirus.
The officials of health department apprised during the meeting that they have started purchasing preventive masks, gloves and other surgical instruments on emergency basis. President LCCI Irfan Sheikh assured about surplus availability of sanitizers in the markets.
