ISLAMABAD – Reports in media claimed that Asad Qaiser has been named the new Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), succeeding Barrister Gohar, who was removed from positions after failure of PTI’s recent protest in Islamabad.

Asad Qaiser however turned down these reports, saying the final decision will be made after consultation with PTI founder who remained behind bars.

The development comes as protest, organized by PTI to highlight key political issues, was widely considered a setback, with low resistance from party leaders impacted the sentiment of thousand of workers.

The lack of momentum and the failure to garner significant support prompted the party’s leadership to take swift action to address internal issues.

Salman Akram Raja and Barrister Gohar, who were overseeing the protest, have been relieved of their duties, with party sources suggesting a shift in the leadership structure.
