After the abrogation of Article 370 not even a single local has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor in dif-ferent universities of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Although the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir are claiming that appointments were made purely on academic and research achievements, social media is flooded with posts in which Jammuities are raising questions over the appointments of non-locals as vice-chancellors of different universities of Jammu. After the appointment of Prof Umesh Rai as Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University, many netizens expressed their anger over ignoring the local deserv-ing candidates for this important position.—KMS
