In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have arrested the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, in Srinagar. The police arrested Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar after raiding his residence in Srinagar on Friday night.
The police have shifted him to Batamaloo Police Station in the city. Meanwhile, APHC leader, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the authorities for continued closure of Jamia Masjid in Srinagar and not allowing people to offer Juma prayers at the historic mosque. He also demanded the immediate release of illegally detained senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who has been under illegal house detention for more than two and half years.
APHC-AJK leader, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, in a statement in Islamabad strongly condemned the arrest of APHC Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar by Indian police in Srinagar. He said that the Indian forces’ personnel were killing, arresting and harassing innocent people on a daily basis in IIOJK. He appealed to the international community to put pressure on India to take immediate steps for resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.—KMS
