Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri have said that Alama Muhammad Iqbal is the role model for Muslim Ummah, and by following his teachings we can find solutions to the socio-economic challenges faced by the Muslim community.
They expressed these views in their separate messages on birth anniversary of Alama Muhammad Iqbal which is commemorated on 9th of November every year.
The Speaker said that Allama Iqbal was a political poet , who awakened the Muslim Ummah through his poetry. He said that it was Iqbal who made Quaid-e-Azam realize that he could give a separate homeland to the Muslims through his leadership.
He added that this day provides an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on their ideas and teachings. He said that the poet’s dream of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the East where they could live according to their religious principles was not less than a blessing.
Speaker Asad Qaiser further said that Allama Iqbal was a proponent of inter-Muslim unity and he taught Muslims to rely on their resources and strength. He said that by following the teachings of Allama Iqbal and adopting Islamic style we can resolve the challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah. He stressed upon the muslim leaders to forge unity among their ranks to counter the blasphemous acts against Holy Prophet (PBUH.)
On this occasion, Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri said that Allama Iqbal’s vision of Islamic society is universal and transcends the boundaries of geography and nationality. He said that Allama Iqbal always emphasized on inter-Muslim unity and there was no room for prejudice and extremism in his view.
He said that Allama Iqbal wanted a peaceful and moderate society. He said that the spirit of freedom instilled in Muslims by Allama Iqbal through his poetry and writing is highly commendable. He said that Allama Iqbal’s efforts for the Muslim Ummah will always be remembered.
