All tourists points in Abbottabad district including Nathiagali, Changla Gali, Ayubia & Thandiani will remain closed during Eid holidays and special check posts have been made at all entry & exit points to stop tourist to enter in hilly tourist resorts. This was disclosed by SSP Traffic Abbottabad Tariq Mehmood while briefing to newsmen at his office here on Tuesday.
He told that as per provincial government strategy to coup with COVID-19, all the tourist points in Galiyat valley will remain closed till further order during eid holidays and asked the tourist not to heed any tourist spot to avoid spreading of coronavirus. Stay home & stay safe needs to be followed by all to fight with the corona disease, he stressed adding that government has been doing all precautionary measures to coup with it. SSP traffic further told that 181 police officers and jawans have been deputed on special duty during eid including SSP, DSP and two inspectors, who will ensure the implementation of government order.
He told that at least ten checkpoints have been declared in the entire district where tourists would not be allowed to proceed to hilly areas. Chamba Bridge, Motorway interchange, Muslimabad Barrier, Qlandarabad interchange, Thandiani Chowk, Thai forest barrier, Kali Mitti on Murree road, Harno Bazar, and Barian Barrier in Galiyat have declared ten points where the special force will be deployed to check the tourists. He told that district administration has imposed section 144 in district Abbottabad for not using face masks, which he said has a positive impact on control coronavirus.
SSP Tariq replying to a query told that traffic staff will be deployed in two shifts and TMA staff, Rescue 1122and District administration staff will also be deployed in the same locations. He further told that a special campaign will be launched against the overcharging of fares and overloading during Eid occasion. Replying to another query, he told that police have also been placed in the ten sale points of sacrificial animals.
