KARACHI – Air taxis finally became a reality in Pakistan as a private firm launched the service, helping people to commute without getting stuck in traffic.

In first phase, people in Sindh and Balochistan can be able to book air taxi from all airports, airfields, and landing strips in region.

Sky Wings Aviation, an aviation firm, launched the service from the country’s financial hub Karachi. As traffic congestion remains a key problem for those who are travelling in emergency situation. It’s unbelievable to envision cities like Karachi and Lahore without stretched queues.

However, the service of air taxis offers hope for ending congestion, with Pakistan, the fifth most populous country, becoming the latest nation to adopt this.

The company’s CEO said four air taxis are available in the first phase and the initial hourly fee for the service stands at PKR 95,000.

The aviation firm said they were contacted by people who wanted to fly for leisure or those curious looking for aerial view of port city and its environs or those who wanted to fly in an emergency to other locations.

As of Feb 2024, the reservations for Air Taxi are now open, and anyone interested in taking a flight above Karachi could book the air taxi, reserving their slot.
