A high-level meeting was held at Karachi Police Office (KPO) under the chairmanship of Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odhu on Wednesday. Zonal DIGs, DIG CIA, District SSPs, SSPs Investigation and other senior officers participated in the meeting. The three zonal DIGs briefed the Karachi Police Chief regarding the performance of their zones.
During the meeting, regarding the situation of crime, police operations against absconding and advertising suspects were also considered and while giving orders to make the police strategy and action plan more solid and coordinated, the Additional IG said that anti-street crimes including drugs. Police action against gambling dens and other social evils and the elements involved in such crimes should be made more strict and successful.
The police chief issued instructions to coordinate and make the process of intelligence collection and sharing effective at all levels and said that all police stations and districts should speed up the process of combing operation in sensitive areas in order to arrest the accused in all possible ways, can be implemented. Strict action should be taken against the secondary markets that sell and buy stolen mobiles and the application of SOP should be ensured.
He issued instructions to take strict measures against motorcycle and vehicle thefts and said that SHOs and SIOs should not only be suspended for poor performance but strict departmental action should be taken against them.
