LAHORE – Pakistan on Friday lost one of its beloved cultural icons, as senior legendary actor Abid Kashmiri passed away.
He was 74.
The actor took his last breath after a brief illness.
His daughter confirmed by saying that her father had been unwell for some time prior to his passing. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, who remember him fondly.
Born on May 4, 1950, in Lahore, Abid Kashmiri had a remarkable career as he appeared in hundreds of television dramas, stage performances and films. His unique comedic talent and spontaneous acting style endeared him to audiences, and made him a cherished figure in the entertainment industry.
In recognition of his contributions to cinema, he received the Nigar Award for Best Comedian in 1988 for his role in the film “Bazaar-e-Husn.”
The fans, friends as well as the showbiz industry mourned his sad demise, saying that he would always live in their hearts. They said that he inspired many throughout his career.
