Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Irum Bukhari has directed to improve the steps taken to facilitate the expatriate Pakistanis.
She stressed that protection of the capital sent by Pakistanis is the responsibility of the State, adding that to achieve this goal, various facilities are needed to be digitized.
She stated this while chairing a follow-up meeting of the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission held here on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairman Wasim Akhtar Ramay, Commissioner Syed Khadim Abbas and DG Ishratullah.
The Vice-Chairman gave a detailed briefing about the organizational performance and new programs.
Irum Bukhari said, besides the launch of the online submission of applications, other steps should also be introduced at the official portal so that the issues of Overseas Pakistanis could be resolved undeviatingly by contacting the applicant through video-link, the ACS emphasized.
She also sought a report about the district-wise pendency of applications for more than one year.
Based on this report, the districts with the highest number of pending cases will be warned and strict action will be taken if the number of cases is not resolved within the stipulated time.
The districts showing good performance will be encouraged, she declared. The ACS appreciated the initiative of the Punjab OPC to introduce a mobile app and directed to launch the application as soon as possible for the facilitation of expatriates, being the top priority of the incumbent government.
