Shame on int’l community
India is the {biggest} democracy, the greatest human rights violator, non-implementer of the UN Security Council resolutions for granting right of self-determination to the Kashmiris, its incumbent government has been creating history by keeping whole population of occupied Kashmir under unprecedented curfew since 5 August 2019, engaged in constant atrocities and oppression through its about 9 lakhs Army in the IoK and in Muslims genocide in pursuance of RSS policies and going all the way out to create all sorts of problems for Pakistan and other neighbours by way of patronizing and promoting militants and extremists groups to say the least.
This very India has been granted certificate by 186 member countries out of 192 of UN General Assembly by voting it as a member of the same Security Council, whose adopted resolutions it is refusing all these decades, for two years to continue what it is doing by way of oppression and suppression of the Kashmiris struggling and sacrificing for more than seven decades to secure their birth right of self-determination and also its anti-Muslim policies through well-planned genocide activities to ensure India is inhabited only by Hindus and the Kashmiris are wiped out (God-forbid) from this surface.
The international community, by and large, should be ashamed for pursuing policies of double standards least caring for human rights, justice, moral and international law. They have their own trade, economy and other relations with India and they are not ready to undermine their economic and trade relations merely for ensuring Kashmiris get their right of self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council’s 1948 resolutions. India has a history of backing out of even written bilateral agreement and it can also temper the UN Security Council records to which it will now have direct access in its favour.

Today’s competitive world has compelled parents to think education as a very effective path of career-making for their children. Reasonably, they leave no stone unturned in investing heavy amount of money for educating their children. Similarly, students leave no chance wasted in putting their unfeigned efforts to be educated. In countries like Pakistan, a reasonable chunk of children get opportunity to go to schools, a few among them attend colleges and a few of them luckily get selected in different universities for pursuing fields of their choice. Students have to spend four or five years in universities for earning degrees. However, it is quite shocking and heartbreaking to know for such hardworking students that university they have been studying in, is not registered. Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology Campus Larkana is a glaring example.
The campus was established in 2009; however, it has not yet been registered by the Pakistan Engineering Council. A number of the campus graduates have qualified different exams for jobs. It is unfortunate to express that they do not get any job owing to absence of accreditation of PEC.
Such a worrying situation puts the career of hundreds of graduates at stake. The Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail, administration of the campus, PEC and other concerned authorities should take notice of this serious issue. Timely taken actions can secure the future of cream of the country.

Online education
Online education is the education in which students may not be present physically at the institution. During Covid-19 pandemic crisis, it was announced by the Ministry of Federal Education that all educational institutions of the country would remain closed till May 31st, 2020 and now there’s no definite timeline for it, but little bit they didn’t know that many students have no access to internet connection or poor connection because 50% of students belong to rural areas. Although there’s no proper timing for the classes and sometimes on weekend students have to attend the class. Students are psychologically pressured because of a heavy load of assignments. Most students have different minds and ability to access things and those students can’t understand anything in online classes because subjects like Mathematics, statistics and other subjects need highly trained teachers for it. Students have paid a heavy amount of money for their semester but yet they’re being treated as private students.
Students of matric and FA/FSs have been promoted to next class but students of university are struggling. Pakistan has a heavy list of technological challenges that can’t be solved so easily and online education in Pakistan is not easy because of it. Last but not least, HEC and other higher education authorities should look at online education issues and consider them seriously.

CA examination
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the ongoing problem of CA examination. The Government has promoted all students of Boards, postponed all entry test exams of universities while the universities following semester system are allowed to conduct online exams only.
All professional bodies like ACCA, ICAEW etc., also have delayed their examination due to Covid-19. But there is only one institute, ICAP, which is forcefully conducting CA exams. Exams will be conducted in marriage halls which are strictly closed by all provincial governments. Very irresponsible behaviour by such a prestigious institute. I urge the Ministry of Education to take tangible steps in this regard.

Smart lockdown is not helpful
I would like to draw the attention of our leaders towards the smart lockdown. Majority of the people is not following SOPs and hence the smart lockdown is of no use. People are wearing masks only due to the fear of Police and Rangers and almost all of them remove their masks as they cross the checkpoints.
Due to the loose measures like smart lockdown, WHO declared Pakistan one of the most Covid-19 affected countries. The government should tighten the lockdown and should help the daily wage workers by providing them with ration so they can fulfil their daily needs.

Fuel availability crisis
This is in response to the news story titled “Fuel availability crisis: Nine OMCs found involved in hoarding, black marketing of POL products” published on June 18, 2020. So the blame has been put on OMCs but in my humble opinion, it has always been a matter of failed governance from a broader perspective. One cannot deem the private sector oil companies as culprits when in actuality, it is the misplaced command economy type regulations which are causing the country to frequently run into fuel shortage. To put it into perspective, the same counter-productive policies caused damage to our Pakistani Rupee when Ishaq Dar was blindly propping up the Rupee against the Dollar.
Petroleum product pricing must be allowed to reach an equilibrium based on market forces of supply and demand. In its current state, the Centre’s monthly pricing mechanism only causes OMCs to undergo losses to subsidize the citizen’s price at the pump. No business should be forced to run in a loss. The costs of social protection must be borne by the government and not by the private entities that are geared to efficiently provide fuel to the nation’s economy on a profit motive.
