Following the directives of CEO Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, repair work on the 84-inch diameter main water line on University Road is progressing rapidly. The repair work began on Monday and is being carried out non-stop, 24 hours a day. The KW&SC spokesperson stated that efforts are underway to complete the repair by Wednesday evening to restore the water supply across the city. Chief Engineer Water Trunk Main Zafar Palejo is personally overseeing the repair work, with Superintendent Engineers Tanveer Sheikh, Abdul Aziz, and Sadiq Toinio, along with other officials, present at the site. Considering public inconvenience, CEO Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has also launched an emergency GPS-enabled water tanker service to ensure temporary water supply to affected areas.
The repair work, which entered its second phase on Monday morning, is expected to be completed by Wednesday (Today) evening, as per the CEO’s earlier remarks. This initiative aims to address the pressing water supply challenges in the city.
