In an unprecedented show of political power in Karachi, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi has staged an impressive show at Bag-e-Jinnah in Karachi, depicting the results of the general elections 2024, here on Sunday night.
Scores of Karachiites, belonging to all walks of life, participated in the convention entitled “Karachi Declaration Convention”. Separate arrangements were made for women and men at the venue. Walk through gates and other security arrangements were also in place at Bag-e-Jinnah. The participants outnumbered the sitting arrangements. Multiple resolutions were also passed at the convention.
JI Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq said that 76 years of the nation have already been spoiled by the ruling elites as Pakistan and Pakistanis have been suffering because of all sort of crises despite the fact that the motherland has been blessed with all kind of resources.
He said that the ruling dynasties, imposed on Pakistan, have failed the country and brought her to the prevailing situation. He said that the nation is done with the same faces and same tactics used against it again and again.
The JI leader said that the nation has set out on a voyage of discovery for a secure future and there is no room for the traditional political dynasties.
Haq said that unfortunately the PML-N has taken a U-turn over her narrative; Respect the vote. He said that both the parties; the PPP and the PML-N have nothing to offer to the nation. One of the two leader wants to become premier because his mother and grandfather had been elected on the same slot, whereas the other leader wants to become the premier for another time because he has already enjoyed the post multiple time, he said.
He said that the ruling elite in the country showed a total failure when it comes to deliver in any sector, whereas they enjoy 90 thousand vehicles, consume hundreds of billions of rupees in the name of fuel, besides plundering the resources of the nation.
He vowed to transform the mega city into a peaceful and prosperous city, if given a change in this regard.
Talking about the party’s manifesto, he said that he has advised not to call non-Muslims as minorities but they should also be known as Pakistanis.
He said that the chapter of women rights in the party’s manifesto was written by women wing of the party. He said that the JI would made it mandatory for all government office bearers to submit undertaking by their women relatives that their inherited rights have been delivered on part of the person.
He said that the JI if elected will ensure quality education, healthcare facilities, job opportunities, and deliverance of other due rights.
JI Karachi Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman in his address highlighted the miseries of Karachi and Karachiites. He said that feudal lords have insulted the mandate of the city by playing nefarious tactics against Karachiites in the local government elections.
Talking about the political significance of the mega city, he said that Karachi represents 96 seats in both houses of the parliament. Due to its numbers and significance, it is not possible for any party to constitute a government in the provincial assembly as well as the national assembly.
He said that despite its powerful position, the city has become a hub of crises. He urged the citizens not to divide their vote in order to save the future of our next generations.
We can’t send everyone abroad, he said adding: we will have to challenge the mafia ruling over the city.
He said that the JI, if comes to power, will introduce the light weight train, bring 5,000 busses, four corridors, IT education, the health card scheme for Karachiites. He also vowed to increase the IT exports to USD 20 billion.
Addressing to the political workers, particularly those belonging to the PTI, he said the arrow and the lion have already eaten up several independent contestants, belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He maintained that this could be the future scenario in the political arena, if the votes in Karachi remain divided. He also condemned the police brutality against the PTI workers in the city
He further said that despite all problems and challenges, the city has been running the entire country and its economy. It contributes significantly in the economy of the country, he said.
He also highlighted the potential of the mega city and said that the progress and development of Karachi is directly linked with the progress and development of the country.
Talking about the latest ambush on the rights of Karachi’s youth, he highlighted that during the protest staged by the JI outside the intermediate board office, a female student came to him and said that she would commit suicide. Charged
Naeemur Rehman said that he would not let the corrupt elements to compel our daughters to commit suicide.
The JI leader said that the MQM has become a ruptured political balloon and those who are trying to resurrect the dead horse will have to face a humiliating defeat.
JI leaders Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui, Syed Abdul Rasheed, Younous Khan Sohan Advocate, Hashim Yousaf Abdali, Mumtaz Sehto and Abdul Razzaq also addressed the event.
