Pak Army zindabad
THE Pakistan Army was birthed on the same day as Pakistan came into existence — despite the country’s 75 years of political instability, economic turmoil and ethnic disparity, our defence forces have remained consistently supreme and united in defending the borders and countering threats to the nation’s sovereignty. As per the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the Pakistan Army has more than 620,000 active duty personnel in charge of defending the country which comprises more than 225,000,000 citizens.
As of 2023, the Pakistan Army ranks as the 7th most powerful army in the world – this is a testament to the fact that when the Pakistan Army was formed, the British Indian Army before dismantling itself gave a 2:1 ratio in favour of India in its division of military assets, giving India twice the amount of firepower and weapons against Pakistan which was a great discrimination.
In recent times, through the use of social media and through certain political parties and its leadership, the Pakistan Army was made to look like an enemy against its people. With the arrest of a certain leader, unprecedented attacks were carried out on the establishment and its bases, particularly on the Core Commanders House (Jinnah House) where arsonists and rioters burnt down the house. What this party had achieved was beyond what the enemies of this nation could ever fathom. It is pertinent to know that as you read this, whether in the safety of your home, at your office or even in your car – soldiers of Pakistan’s Army are risking their lives at the borders surrounding this country and within it.
We face an existential crisis on the border of Afghanistan with members of the TTP/Taliban attempting to attack our country; on the border with Iran and in the province of Balochistan where members of the BLA carry out attacks on those not Balochi and who want to separate Balochistan from Pakistan; on the border with India in which projectiles are fired and more recently a missile crossed into Pakistan yet it failed to detonate; the issue of Kashmir, and how they rely on Pakistan for their freedom and independence.
People may despise the Pak Army on conspiracies, but they continue to risk their lives to protect us. People may lose their confidence in the Pak Army, but they remain committed in protecting the nation. The motivation they have to protect their nation is a sacrifice which must never be forgotten. Some may forget their humanitarian help during times of crisis (floods/earthquake etc), or how they cleaned up Karachi and drastically reduced its crime rate.
Unlike institutions in Pakistan, the Pakistan Army is the only establishment that does not care who you are, where you are from or, what you look like or your financial background — only that you serve your country with sincerity and believe in equality. This level of unity is remarkable and the Pakistan Army will forever remain supreme. Pakistan zindabad.
