AS part of its hegemonic proclivities, India is sticking with its offensive posture. The Indian plans to deploy 120 tactical missiles on its borders with Pakistan are yet another indication of its belligerent designs.
These missiles named Pralay are capable to hit targets at a distance of up to five hundred kilometres and are difficult to intercept due to their ability to change their path.
The deployment of such missiles indeed will further increase the tension in the already volatile South Asian region.
Most recently Indian Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of a new airbase in Gujarat near border with Pakistan.
Ever since coming to power, Modi has also signed several billion dollars defense deals with the western countries.
The way India is perpetrating terrorism in Pakistan is no longer a secret. It is really unfortunate that India instead of treading the course of cooperation is preferring animosity towards China and Pakistan which is only exacerbating the situation as the region remains under constant threat of skirmishes and security contours.
The situation becomes more precarious and dangerous as an extremist mindset is at the helm of affairs in New Delhi who every now and then keeps spitting venom against the neighbours.
There is no doubt left that India wants to assume the role of a regional policeman and the biggest hurdle in its way are China and Pakistan which have repeatedly given a befitting response to the Indian aggression.
Whilst Pakistani Shaheens shot down their two fighter jets back in 2019, the Chinese ground troops taught a good lesson to Indian troops in Ladakh fighting.
Regardless of what the Indian Government does, it cannot match the professional capability and valiance of Pakistan’s defence forces and that of the Chinese forces which are also far superior technology-wise.
It will be better for Indian leadership to shun the path of hostility and rather become part of efforts to reduce poverty, disease, hunger as well as address other emerging challenges such as that of climate change in the region.
The people do not want death and destruction but peace and prosperity in their lives which will only come through greater collaboration.
