Denounces Aitzaz’s statement on PM, son’s acquittal

Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is following an aggressive foreign policy based on mutual respect, equality and friendly relations with all nations.
Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif said this on Friday while addressing a press conference at the PM House.
Flanked by Information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Planning & Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik, Adviser to the PM Atta Tarar and Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Khawaja Asif said in the last couple of months, Shehbaz Sharif had followed an aggressive foreign policy bridging the gaps and mending the relations with the countries which had kept a distance with Pakistan due to former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ill-conceived policies.
Referring to Prime Minister Sharif’s meetings with the US President Joe Biden, Russian President Putin, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kazakhstan’s leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Gulf countries’ leaders, Turkiye’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Palestine’s Mahmoud Abbas and several other in last four or five months during the UNGA meeting, SCO and other forums, Khawaja Asif said our foreign policy was directionless in the previous government but after coming to power earlier this year, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched a foreign policy with “humility but dignity.”
We have seen the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres visiting the flood-affected areas in Sindh and Balochistan, he said, adding that President of France Macron has also proposed a donors’ conference for Pakistan in the coming month.
This shows the world is rallying its support behind Pakistan and recognizes the strategic importance of the country in the region, he said.
Khawaja Asif criticized Pakistan People’s Party’s senior leader Ch Aitzaz Ahsan for his comments on the release of PM Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz in money laundering cases. The comments reflect his personal frustration as he has unfortunately lost his relevance in his party as well as politics, said Asif.
Aitzaz Ahsan had alleged that the “establishment” helped the Sharif family get clear of the cases of corruption against them.
