Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) organized a ceremony where returning migrants were presented trade-specific toolkits as an In-Kind support to help them start sustained self-employment.
The activity is part of OPF efforts to support returning migrants to make a new start in Pakistan and achieve a sustainable employment.
OPF is Implementing a program on economic reintegration of returnees in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Pakistan.
It is part of the “Returning to New Opportunities” programme which is commissioned by the Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation & Development (BMZ).
The implementing partner of this programme in Pakistan is Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & HRD//OPF.
A Pakistani-German Facilitation & Reintegration Centre (PGFRC), the major component of this programme, has been established in OPF premises, Lahore.
The program also has an advisory desk in OPF head office Islamabad. PGFRC is supporting and assisting returning migrants and the local population with their social and economic reintegration.
In the ceremony, which was attended by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ishrat Ali, Secretary Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & HRD, trade specific toolkits were handed over to 52 returning migrants as an In-Kind Support.
