Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi has said that we have been living in a century where technology has superiority over everything else. The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi was addressing a workshop titled “contextual probability: concepts, implementations, and applications” jointly organized by the COMSTECH and IEEE Karachi Section. Almost 80 participants attended the workshop through the online facility while 30 people attended it in person. The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi further said that the Covid-19 health emergency had further increased the importance of technology. He observed that any society not utilizing technology was not able to do progress. He mentioned that the coronavirus health emergency had made it possible to utilize the option of online classes in the universities as they had to sort out the problems in this new learning system. He said that the utilization of technology was compulsory for the advancement of society. He observed that no society could make progress without giving preference to science. He said that they lived in a society where people earlier had thought that Covid-19 pandemic was fiction and not a fact as later on, they had accepted this the reality when their near and dear ones caught the infectious diseases. The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi said that science and technology should be given preference so that youth of the country could excel in their fields enabling Pakistan to join the league of developed countries.
