61,813 local observers registered in relation with parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

61 813 local observers have been accredited in relation with early parliamentary elections, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov said at the CEC meeting held today, secki-2020.az reports.
Chairman of CEC stated that 57 939 of them have been registered in Constituency Election Commissions, while 3 874 observers have been registered in the CEC.
The preparations for the elections to the Azerbaijani Parliamentary scheduled for February 9 are conducted at a high level in the Imishli election constituency #79.
Head of the electoral constituency commission Ramil Nasirov told secki-2020.az that the number of voters in the constituency is 41,804 and 18 persons have been registered as candidates for the parliamentary elections.
Nasirov mentioned that 474 observers were registered to follow the elections. According to him, web cameras installed in 5 out of 43 polling stations in the constituency are ready to function.
Stating that they are ready for the elections, the head of the constituency said that the polling stations were equipped with all the necessary facilities.
PACE to observe early parliamentary elections:
A 25-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Frank Schwabe (Germany, SOC), will travel to Azerbaijan from 7 to 10 February to observe the conduct of the early parliamentary elections, alongside observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), secki-2020.az reports citing PACE’s website.
The delegation will meet, in particular, candidates and representatives of political parties, as well as representatives of the Central Election Commission, civil society and the media, before observing the ballot on 9 February.
A member of the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe’s group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit.
  Some 694 international observers have passed accreditation in regard with the snap elections to the Azerbaijani Parliament, said Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Central Election Commission (CEC) at the CEC meeting held today, secki-2020.az reports.
